Ammar Ahmed Saleh Shata
Ammar Shata is the Founder and the Executive Director of the Alkhabeer Capital which, has evolved since 2004 to a fully licensed investment company under the aegis of the Capital Markets Authority. The inception of Alkhabeer followed his many achievements in corporate management posts with leading financial institutions such as National Commercial Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
Ammar began his investment banking career in 1990 building a successful record of accomplishments, Ammar has been instrumental in transforming conventional finance into Sharia compliant financial products. Under his guidance and leadership, Alkhabeer Capital is now recognized as a leading alternative asset management firm providing innovative world class investment products and solutions to institutions, family groups and qualified high net worth investors.
Ammar has been a pioneer in developing Islamic strategic securities & financial products in the region such as the first asset-backed securities investment fund in Saudi Arabia, the first multi-million real-estate Development, the first Income investment funds; and the first Islamic credit card.
In 2005, Ammar founded Sharia Review Bureau, the first and leading professional, independent institution in the GCC and some selected countries worldwide, based out of Bahrain that provides assessment of financial transactions to ensure their compliance with Islamic Principles.
Ammar is recognized in the capital market as a thought leader with the ability to identify local & international economic shifts and their subsequent correlation to global and local markets. This insight, paired with his expertise, has earned him the respect and trust of industry leaders throughout the region, many of whom comprise the Alkhabeer Capital clientele and shareholders.
Ammar’s leading and unique efforts have earned him several prestigious awards, including “Man of the Year” from World Finance in 2012. He also appears in the Global Finance’s list of Who’s Who in Middle Eastern Finance 2016.

Ammar earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Economic Planning from the University of Southern California, USA. He is a CFA® charterholder, and an approved Arbitrator by the Saudi Ministry of Justice.
