Ammar is the Founder and the Chairman of Alkhabeer Capital, a fully licensed investment company since 2008 under the aegis of the Capital Markets Authority, with a paid-up capital of SAR 0.9 billion and Assets Under Management of over SAR 8.5 billion (as of end of 2022). The inception of Alkhabeer followed his many achievements in corporate management posts with leading financial institutions, such as the National Commercial Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.

Ammar began his investment banking career in 1990 building a successful record of accomplishments where, Ammar has been instrumental in transforming conventional finance into Sharia-compliant financial products.

Ammar is a pioneer in developing Islamic strategic securities and financial products in the region, such as the first asset-backed securities investment fund, the first real estate development investment fund, the first real estate income investment fund, and the first Islamic credit card in Saudi Arabia.

Ammar established Alkhabeer Financial Advisor in 2004 as a financial advisory and consultancy office with a capital of SAR 50,000 that formed the foundation on which Alkhabeer Capital was built in 2008. KFA has achieved great success, resulting in profits of over SAR 12 million in the last year of its operations.

In 2005, Ammar founded Shariah Review Bureau, the first and leading professional independent institution in the GCC and some select countries worldwide, based out of Bahrain, that provides assessment of financial transactions to ensure their compliance with Islamic principles.

In 2021, Ammar founded “Gotrah Venture”, a Startup Studio that adds more than just cash. It uses a hands-on approach using a skilled and well experienced team, resources, and a solid validation process. In 2022, Ammar founded further company, namely “Tarteeb Consulting” which provides advice in key areas to senior management of companies/institutions in a joint venture with a corporate finance boutique firm.

Ammar is recognized in the capital markets as a thought leader with the ability to identify local and international economic shifts and their subsequent correlation to global and local capital markets.

Ammar’s leading and unique efforts have earned him several awards, including “Man of the Year” from World Finance in 2012. He is also listed in the Global Finance’s list of Who’s Who in Middle Eastern Finance since 2016.

Ammar is a regular invitee/contributor through multiple media channels.

In 2019, Ammar launched his book in Arabic, titled: “A Hundred Degrees Below Zero”, which highlights the stages of effective professional decision-making. The book won the Saudi Writer Award in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2020.

This book is meant to inspire the younger generation to achieve their dreams, build successful projects or businesses, and to motivate them to face the obstacles and overcome them and turn them into learning experiences.

Ammar has participated in several state agencies, including Chairman of the Permanent Advisory Committee of the General Authority of Endowments, Riyadh (Formerly) And Member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Islamic Economics, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah.

Ammar earned a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Economic Planning from the University of Southern California, USA, and he is a CFA® charter holder.
