Ammar A. Shata is the Founder and the Executive Director of the Alkhabeer Capital, which is a fully licensed investment company under the aegis of the Capital Markets Authority, with a paid-up capital of SR 894 million and Assets Under Management of SR 5.6 billion (as end of 2018). The inception of Alkhabeer followed his many achievements in corporate management posts with leading financial institutions, such as the National Commercial Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
Ammar began his investment banking career in 1990 building a successful record of accomplishments, Ammar has been instrumental in transforming conventional finance into Sharia-compliant financial products. Under his guidance and leadership, Alkhabeer Capital is now recognized as a leading alternative asset management firm providing innovative world class investment products and solutions to institutions, family groups and qualified high net-worth investors.
Ammar is a pioneer in developing Islamic strategic securities and financial products in the region, such as the first asset-backed securities investment fund in Saudi Arabia, the first real-estate development fund, the first income investment fund, and the first Islamic credit card.
Ammar established Al Khabeer Financial Advisor (KFA) in 2004 as a financial advisory and consultancy with a capital of SR 50,000 that formed the base of and was succeeded by Alkhabeer Capital in 2008. KFA grew to be a very successful firm that generated profits in excess of SR 12 million in its final year of operations.
In 2005, Ammar founded Shariah Review Bureau, the first and leading professional independent institution in the GCC and some selected countries worldwide, based out of Bahrain, that provides assessment of financial transactions to ensure their compliance with Islamic principles.
Ammar is recognized in the capital markets as a thought leader with the ability to identify local and international economic shifts and their subsequent correlation to global and local markets. This insight, paired with his pecuniary expertise, has earned him the respect and trust of industry leaders throughout the region, many of whom comprise the Alkhabeer Capital clientele and shareholders.
Ammar’s leading and unique efforts have earned him several prestigious awards, including “Man of the Year” from World Finance in 2012. He also appears in the Global Finance’s list of Who’s Who in Middle Eastern Finance 2016.

This book is meant to inspire the younger generation to achieve their dreams, build a successful start-up business, and to motivate them to face and overcome obstacles, and turn them into learning experiences.
Ammar earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Economic Planning from the University of Southern California, USA. He is a CFA® charter holder.
In 1999, Ahmed Ghouth began his career in investment banking, asset management, real estate and private equity. Prior to taking up his present position at Alkhabeer, which includes responsibility for overseeing the Asset Management business, he was Managing Director of Corporate Banking and Structured Finance, where he was instrumental in originating and executing several marquee debt, real estate and private equity transactions.
He also serves as a board member on several private and public funds managed by Alkhabeer.
Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.
Hisham commenced his career in the finance and investment fields in 1996, serving in various posts in asset management, business development and placement areas. Currently, Hisham oversees the Asset Management Division that includes Real Estate, Private Equity, Capital Markets and Product Development Departments. Meanwhile, he is also responsible for the Business Development & Placement Division.
Prior to joining Alkhabeer, he was the Executive Vice President at Elaf Group of Companies, and before that, Hisham served for 9 years at the National Commercial Bank, Asset Management Group, as a Senior Portfolio Manager.
Hisham holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia and has a Diploma in Portfolio Investment Management and Financial Markets from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences.
Since 1993, Tamer has worked in the trading, banking, manufacturing, and real estate sectors. He has extensive experience in the disciplines of finance and accounting, corporate finance, financial planning, cost analysis, advisory, process restructuring, and project management.
Tamer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cairo University, Egypt. He is a Certified Management Accountant, and holds the General Securities Qualification from Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority.
Ziad is a seasoned investment professional who has been working at regional and international firms since 1999, and currently heads Alkhabeer’s Investment Strategy. Ziad has been with Alkhabeer since 2008, where he contributed to different areas at Alkhabeer such as Investment Banking and Real Estate investment management.
Prior to joining Alkhabeer, he was a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), working within their Corporate Finance and Transaction Services from offices in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. He also served as a director in the UAE-based Investment Banking unit of Unifund Capital.
Ziad holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors) from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and is a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Starting his banking career in 1993, Hicham Hatoum’s experience embraces corporate banking, investment banking, structured finance and advisory. During this time, he has held senior positions with a number of prominent institutions, and led several landmark transactions. Prior to joining Alkhabeer, he was Managing Director – Head of Investment Banking at NCB Capital; and Head of Structured Finance at National Commercial Bank. Before this, he was Head of Corporate Banking at National Bank of Kuwait – Lebanon, and Assistant General Manager – Structured Finance with Samba Financial Group. Hicham holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the California State University, USA.
Ibrahim Saad began his career in 2007 in the area of risk consulting, gaining vast experience in the GCC region and specifically in the Saudi Market.
Before joining Alkhabeer, Ibrahim spent several years with Deloitte & Touche in the Risk Services Division. He was part of the Financial Services Industry Team where he served financial institutions in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Dubai in executing risk consulting projects. He also worked with CMA and SAMA based on secondment agreements where he enriched his regulatory and compliance knowledge in this field and had an extensive exposure in the financial industry.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance from the Canadian University in Lebanon.
Since 1998, Ayman Bajsair has worked with regional and international institutions in the areas of product and business development, and has led the execution of numerous capital market transactions and business expansion projects.
He has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating transactions and business terms with local and multinational corporations; and in-depth knowledge of capital market laws and relevant implementation strategies.
Ayman is a graduate in Marketing and Economics from Oklahoma City University, USA.
