Tariq began his career in 2002. He currently serves as an advisor to the Minister of Municipalities and Housing. Tariq has extensive experience in leading financial policy development efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has contributed to enhancing the strategic role of the Ministry of Finance and enabling the Kingdom to achieve its financial sustainability goals.

Tariq previously served as the Deputy Minister of Finance for Public Revenues, where he led efforts to develop the Kingdom’s general revenue budget. He established an annual and medium-term revenue forecasting methodology and managed revenue targets across all government entities. Additionally, he oversaw comprehensive revenue analysis operations and contributed to analyzing variables and performance reports to ensure revenue collection and enhance collection mechanisms. One of his key achievements was leading efforts to integrate all government entities into a unified revenue collection platform (Tahseel).

Tariq holds an MBA and an M.S. in Information Systems. He has expanded his expertise through leadership programs at top institutions such as Harvard Business School, London Business School, INSEAD, UC Berkeley, and MIT.
